Area : Education Type : Development Location : Jakarta, Surabaya, Pontianak & Bogor Impact : 555 Scholarships A school sponsorship program for children from lower income families at risk of not receiving basic education. Applicants are interviewed and background checked ensuring the qualification of entrance. A prefatorily course is available to teach how write and read. An after school tutoring is also provided by volunteers twice a week as well as additional nutritious meals In seven years of existence, about 600 children have received the scholarships. Some has advantage to high school. We hope to impact the children by providing a chance to obtain their “right for education”, inspiring others, and to provide better tomorrow. |
